This small resort is focused on family activities like sledding, tubing, snowshoeing and of course skiing/snowboarding. With a number of programs focused on helping kids learn and play, the resort features spacious and child-specific learning areas. Programs for all levels of learning are also available and lift ticket rates are very reasonable. For a less crowded and family oriented experience, Soda Springs is a great choice.

Terrain Park: Yes, for kids. This park includes small sized jumps, banks and boxes sized for kids. There is also a larger park for those progressing past the kids-sized park.

Kids Activities
A dedicated kids area for those 8 years and under offers tubing lanes and carousels, a volcano for climbing, moving carpets, sleigh rides and small scale slopes for learning.
Kids aged 6-12 and under 100 lbs can enjoy kids’ sized snowmobiles on the circular track. Snowmobiles are rented per lap.

Ski/Snowboard School
Soda Springs specializes in family specific activities. They have group and private lessons tailored to various ages and the facilities to support helping kids learn. This includes magic carpets, beginner specific bunny slopes and a beginner only ski lift. Specific packages are also available with cheaper, limited ski pass along with a lesson, equipment rental and tubing lift access. Soda Springs is highly recommended for families with small children who want to take ski or snowboard lessons.

Driving Directions:
Soda Springs is located on Highway 80 off of the Soda Springs exit. After the exit, take that road 1/4 mile and turn right at the yellow blinking light.

Flying:
The nearest large airport is Reno International and the nearest small airport is Truckee.

Bus/Coach:
Bus service to Truckee is available from Reno and the bay area.
